Back in Kawela Bay.
It’s pretty amazing to be able to spend time in such different environments…Northern California and Oahu, Hawaii. The contrast is striking and always offers inspiration. Nature is strong and loud in Hawaii. Vivid colors and hundreds of shades of blues and greens. Trade winds and bright flowering trees. The sound of waves rolling to shore. The songs of the trade winds rustling through the palm trees. Nature is never quiet here….She sings with a full throated chant and serenade.
We’ve been blessed with the opportunity to be here over the past 26 years. Change has come slowly to the North Shore. Mostly showing up in so much more traffic now and so many more people visiting the beauty of this island.
Today we stopped our moving back in frenzy and took ourselves down to the beach. As we were sitting there, quietly, a big sea turtle pulled herself up onto the sand right in front of us. A beautiful welcome home. She stayed there for over an hour.
