Muse Serenade

Description

“Muse Serenade” is an original one of a kind sculpture.
I have sculpted her face, arms and hands with polymer clay, fired and then hand painted with acrylic paints.
I have always had a love and passion for antique fabric and trims and these antique embroidery pieces just thrilled me with their beautiful color and textures.
They seemed to sing of the sea.
Just imagine…someone hand stitched this piece, many many many years ago.

I always contemplate where were they when they worked on this piece of embroidery? Were they sitting in a window seat with the sun warming their hands?

I love to imagine the story of the antique fabrics that I use.
I feel I am bringing them to life again…to be loved and appreciated.

The Muse is embellished with beadwork with a mosaic of sea glass on her base and headdress.

She holds a glass butterfly, symbolizing transformation.
Does she sing to you? Will she become your muse?

Size: 20-1/2” tall. Base is 10” wide… glass beads extend beyond the base by a couple of inches.
